description How can a person make a placeless a place for all? Perhaps, you don't care about climate change but you would care about if your roof is leaking, your energy bill is too high or your tab water is dirty. If you have to move constantly because of these issues, you will never be able to find a home to make it your own. This hackathon is different than others because you work on the issues that you care about...the issues will make Portland a better place for all. Here is the scoop. Prizes First place: $1500+50% discount to NEXT Startup Second place: $500+ two 50% discount to Tech for Change Friday, 5/17 (optional but recommended) Kick-Off Party: Good food and beer will be there for you plus some good companies. An opportunity to scout teammates and networking & social Saturday, 5/18 Commissioner Fish will speak. Bill Weihl, Sustainability Guru at Facebook will make cameo appearance via video conferencing. API, datasets and project ideas will be presented. Sunday, 5/19 It is your time to shine. The final presentation will start at 3:30 and the prizes will be given out to the top two teams.
