Systers is the world's largest email community of technical women in computing. This global meetup is to kick off Systers 25th Anniversary in 2012, celebrate Anita Borg's birthday (Jan 17) and lend support to Systers.
We will be meeting from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at the Central Library in Portland. 801 SW 10th Avenue.
If you take the MAX, exit at Library/SW 10th Avenue and walk west to the Library. We will have a meeting room from 10 AM to 11:30 AM.
Smaller groups may continue conversations over lunch downtown (food carts, restaurants, etc.)
Systers Meetups are events organized by the Systers community of the Anita Borg Institute for Women in Technology. Systers is a community of women in computing. This is opportunity for Systers to meet and discuss technology, challenges they face and support each other.
Goals:
- Celebrate Anita Borg and Systers!
- Assist other Systers with research proposals, GHC submissions, Pass-It-On Award applications
- Facilitate inspiring and passionate discussions about technology
