Money and personal finances can be hard to discuss. Come break some taboos and hear our panelists discuss basic, traditional, and alternative approaches to thinking about our finances. Does everyone have a budget? What should I do with my 401k, or what if I don’t have one? What money habits are the best in your 20s/30s/40s...? How can I get a raise? Can I retire when I’m 40?

We’ll have approachable panelists from different corners of the financial world share their tips and advice on starting and growing our confidence with talking all things money, and we’ll wrap up with an audience Q&A.

Q: What is the parking situation? A: No onsite parking, but there is plenty of street parking nearby.

Q: Is there any special information that might help me find the entrance? A: The main entrance of the building is on 19th Ave, and then take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd Floor.

Q: Is there secured bike parking? A: No, but there are bike racks in front of the building.

Q: Should I consider using public transportation? A: There is limited public transit near site, though the #60 bus runs out front on the opposite side of the street.

Q: Can I bring my dog? A: No, we ask that you leave your furry friend home.

Purpose: PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.
