ThursdayApr 26 2018PDX Women in Tech (PDXWIT) West Side Mixer
*Registration through Eventbrite [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pdx-women-pdxwit-west-side-mixer-tickets-43553330183] is required to gain entry to this event
Many of us live and/or work on the west side of the metro area but may not have a convenient professional community nearby. Thanks to PDXWIT and the City of Beaverton’s support, we can get together to talk tech and other work topics.
People use social media for many purposes, including networking. How have you leveraged your social media presence to build your professional network? What lessons have you learned along the way? We’ll focus this event on tips and ideas for folks embarking on their own strategy and anyone looking to improve their digital profile.

There is a parking lot and some street parking available but I wanted to let you know that there is a parking garage (called The Round Parking Garage) on 12655 SW Millikan Way, which is a very convenient location for parking: http://theroundbeaverton.com/transit-parking/parking/
Q: Is there secured bike parking? A: No
Q: Should I consider using public transportation? A: Absolutely! The Watson Building is located right at the Beaverton Central MAX stop, so it’s an easy trip in from either Portland or Hillsboro.
Purpose:
PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.
Our events are inclusive. ALL people who support our purpose are welcome.
