- Lina Gao - Treatment Assignment in Adaptive Bayesian Sequential Design using Shiny
We'll be borrowing a projector so we won't be dealing with tiny screen this time!
Doors open after 615 pm. DO NOT SHOW UP BEFORE 615 PM. Talks start about 630 pm.
Repeat: DO NOT SHOW UP BEFORE 615 PM.
Go to 720 NW Davis, and someone will be there to let you in through the locked door.
We'll visit a local watering hole afterwards

TuesdayOct 25 2016pdxrlang meetup: Tim Kaye: Fun With Data Streams in R–
LyticsSpeaker: Tim Kaye
Title: Fun with data streams in R
Abstract: Often in practice, not all of your data will have been generated or collected yet, so you need to be able to process that data and update your models on-the-fly. This talk will provide a brief exploration of streaming algorithms and how they can be used in R. The primary applications will be data mining for data streams and online inference using non-parametric Bayesian models.
We may visit a local watering hole afterwards, or I may bring beverages.

MondaySep 28 2015[Cancelled] PDXGo Project/Hack Night–
LyticsCancelled September PDXGo Project Night
Sadly due to an shoulder dislocation I won't be able to host the event, and I wasn't able to find another person to host. If someone else would like to organize at a Pub or public venue feel free, but I(Josh Roppo) won't be in attendance.
Hack on your side projects with fellow Portland Gophers! We didn't have a Talk night this month, so this night can do double duty for discussion time.
All skill and interest levels welcome! If you have questions on a project or part of the GoTour feel free to bring them, there will probably be someone who can help!

TuesdaySep 8 2015PDXGo Talk Night–
LyticsUPDATE: Due to location conflicts we're going to host the event at Lytics instead of Esri for this month.
Gather with fellow Gophers for an evening of Talks and discussion around Golang! All experience levels welcome!
Schedule:
Hang out and chat with other Gophers until about 6:30
Bring your questions and ask the whole group in an open discussion format!
Talk: Go Vendoring Tools and Updates by Daniel Theophanes
Handling Go dependencies with vendoring has been a topic of this group's discussion multiple times, and with the proposed 1.5 /vendor directory the community is finally converging on a single standard. Daniel will be covering Go vendoring in general, the vendor-spec, and his own tool govendor!
Reverse Q&A: Propose questions to the group in a friendly discussion format. Beginner questions welcome and encouraged!
Continue discussion; maybe over beers at Baileys!

ThursdayFeb 12 2015Learning Go(lang) Workshop–
LyticsGather with fellow Gophers for an evening of Talks and discussion around Golang! All experience levels welcome, but night will focus on learning Go! If you're interested in something more advanced and less hands on come to our Talk night and learn about CoreOS's Rocket on February 10th.
This February gets the extra fortune of having a second night thanks to a special guest being in town. So there will be two nights; advanced and beginner oriented! The advanced night will be the standard time Second Tuesday Feb 10th, and special beginner night on Thursday the 12th.
Workshop night for Beginners: Francesc Campoy Flores from Google will be in town for advocacy events and will run a beginner Go workshop! The topic has yet to be finalized, but the workshop will take someone unfamiliar with Go and work through a fun project as a group in around two hours. An example project for the curious(not necessarily the actual project):
More details will be announced once topics are finalized!
PS: Check the meetup page for the latest updates.
