Noah Pepper talking about Text Visualization

Noah Pepper is the founder and CEO of Lucky Sort, Inc. a data mining and visualization company based in Portland, OR. Noah will be talking about Text Visualization. Before founding Lucky Sort in May 2011, he was Director of Research and Development for Qmedtrix, a Portland-based firm in the medical insurance industry, where he led a team that developed a machine learning and visualization platform to detect fraud & abuse in medical reimbursements.

Noah is going to dive into how Luck Sort has dealt with screen real estate, sensory overload and non-technical users. “Starting from a touch interface and moving to the web, we’ve been designing and iterating around user’s workflows. Our prototypes were all wrong but we’ve focused on changing quickly.”

This is going to be a presentation on how Lucky Sort’s interface has evolved. The talk will be on how UX design, prototypes, and the need to create an user centric experience.

The doors will be open at 5:30pm. Please join us for a half hour of networking before the talk. We will have beer & snacks.

The presentations will start at 6pm & should last for about an hour including questions & the two talks.
