Domain Modeling with Neo4j
Collective Agency Downtown

Neo4j is a powerful and expressive tool for storing, querying and manipulating data. However modeling data as graphs is quite different from modelling data under a relational database. In this talk, Michael Hunger will cover modelling business domains using graphs and show how they can be persisted and queried in Neo4j. We'll contrast this approach with the relational model, and discuss the impact on complexity, flexibility and performance.

We will also be showcasing our new tool GraphGist, and whiteboarding your particular use cases during the session. As always, beer/grub is provided by Neo4j.

*Do you want us to model your specific domain? Ping the PDX organizers and we will use your domain as an example during the meetup!*

PDX Graph Meetup - Internet of Things
Swift Collective

Hi Graphistas!

We're back with a bang this summer and having a meetup about the 'Internet of Things' (IoT).

We'll demo our 'Graph of Things' and discuss how IoT is a perfect graph DB use case.

There'll be cool drinks and even cooler people (and pizza).

In the meantime, check out our blog post about the 'Graph of Things.'

Hope to see you there!

GraphAcademy: Graph Data Modeling with Neo4j
Portland Code School

This course teaches how to design and implement a graph data model and associated queries. With a mixture of instruction and hands-on practice sessions, you’ll learn how to apply the property graph model to solve common modeling problems. You’ll also learn how to evolve an existing graph in a controlled manner to support new or changed requirements.
