iNaturalist @ Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge
Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge (in Sellwood)

The Oaks Bottom wildlife refuge is known for its native plants and the flowers are blooming! Join us as we make a loop around the pond and document plants, animals, and fungi using the iNaturalist mobile app. We'll work together as a group, no experience needed. No phone required either as we should have plenty. We'll set out about 15 minutes after the start time so find us in the parking lot.

RSVP on eventbrite

Your hosts: Tim Welch and Matt Waddell

What to bring:

  • iPhone or Android phone (if you have one)
  • Northwest plant ID book (if you have one). An excellent one for this location is "Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast"
  • Suitable shoes/clothing (could be a little bit wet/muddy)
  • Snacks, water & drinks to share
  • A cup, plate, and spoon couldn't hurt either

What to do before coming:

  • Create an account with iNaturalist - http://www.inaturalist.org/
  • Install the iNaturalist mobile app on your phone
  • After opening the mobile app, search for and join the 'Dots Connect' project. That will keep our groups observations together so we can all see what we accomplished.

Geocaching & Short Hike (Updated Location)
15655 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97006

We're going to try something a little bit different and new. Our group is very interested in a hike and our co-organizer suggested a fun activity Geocaching. How about trying both? We're updating the location to Tualatin Hills Nature Park/Center.

It's forecasted to rain, but we'll try anyway; it is Oregon. You can choose to hike, Geocache, or both. We'll spend about an hour together and you can choose to spend more time on your own.

If you're interested in Geocaching you can download the app. It's free and all you need to do is register before we go.

We'll gather everyone at Nature Center at 1pm and have some intros and then start our hike and Geocache at 1:10. Thank you for being prompt!

Hike With Us To Revive Your Mind, Body, & Spirit
Copper Mountain Nature Park

Are you ready for Spring? What a better way to celebrate than getting outside for fresh air and getting in touch with nature.

Join us for a short 1-hour hike at Copper Mountain Nature Park. The first half of the hike well share our hiking experiences, and the second half we'll practice mindfulness.

We'll meet by the red building at the entrance at the Nature Park. We'll leave ten minutes after 1 pm to let ourselves introduce each other and catch anyone who might be running late.
