CW+ Meetup: IP and the Web – GDFC Charles Mirho, an experienced Portland patent attorney, has volunteered to come speak to our group about IP on the web. His presentation will focus on profiting from web innovation. This will be a talk about all of the ways a person can profit from innovation in web design, e-commerce, applications, etc. Patent protection is one aspect of it, but will not be the primary focus of this discussion. Categorically, we will cover: Web design โ getting credit and keeping control Applications โ mitigating piracy E-commerce โ where the big money is... protection and funding Bring your questions and, if you'd like, food or drink to share with the group. |

Web Open Mic Unlugged – GDFC In true Open Mic style, come relax and listen in or sign up to take a turn sharing your original web concept or demo. We KNOW there's a lot of cool "side" or "hobby" projects out there and we think it'd be really interesting to hear what some of YOURS are. You might want to give your web app sales pitch, survey the group, or demo a product. Here's how it works: Each turn will be exactly 15 minutes. That means there's room for about 8 presentations. Signup will be AT THE EVENT. The order will be determined using an algorithm which places you in the order you signed up. The format is UP TO YOU! (so is the content ;-) Feel free to bring a slideshow or demo to accompany you, since it's always better to show AND tell. A projector will be available. In return you will get: The validation of your peers An engaged and informed audience that will give you honest feedback because, well, why wouldn't we? Ideas that you haven't thought of yet. So join us in the informal comfort of our living room venue, bring a snack or a beverage if you like, and oh yeah: don't forget to bring your great ideas to share! |
