While many of us agree with IBM CEO Thomas Watson Jr.’s famous declaration that “good design is good business,” we often struggle to be able to prove it. As a systems thinker, Deb Mrazek has developed an array of frameworks, tools, and platforms to leverage the power of design and systems thinking at project, group, organizational and global levels, bridging the language of design and the language of business.

In this event, Mrazek will share her expertise on how the value of design can truly be realized, and pay off!

A: The main entrance to the building is on 6th Ave and there is a secondary entrance on Broadway to the left of Ruth’s Chris Steak House (this entrance does have stairs once you are inside the building). Q: Should I consider using public transportation? A: We always recommend public transportation when possible as we are on the transit mall on 6th Ave.

Q: Can I bring my dog? A: No, we ask that you leave your furry friend home.

Purpose:

PDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our purpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering educational programs, partnerships, mentorships, resources and opportunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and potential women in tech, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Our goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage others to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gender imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects of that imbalance on women.

Our events are inclusive. ALL people who support our purpose are welcome.
