Free Geek is an electronics refurbishing and recycling nonprofit based in Portland. Donated electronics and computers are ethically recycled or are repaired and sold in the thrift store or donated to other nonprofit organizations. Volunteers help at all stages of the process, and after 24 hours are able to "adopt" a refurbished computer for free.

Please join us for May's Veterans in Technology Networking Event happening at Free Geek (1731 SE 10th Ave, Portland, OR 97214). Doors open on Thursday, May 18th at 1730 hours (5:30pm). This event will be a great time to network with your peers and enjoy food and refreshments provided by our sponsors; Marquam, Mainz Brady Group, and Scout Military Discounts. Beer will also be donated by Pabst Blue Ribbon and Columbia Distributing!

PDX Veterans in Technology is a non-profit dedicated to assisting active-duty, reservist, and returning veterans with reintegration into the local tech community. Our organization is also committed to helping create, advance, and maximize the careers of current veterans in technology within the Portland metropolitan area.

Sequence of Events:

1730 hours (5:30 PM) to 1800 hours (6:00 PM) - Networking and refreshments

1800 hours (6:00 PM) to 1810 hours (6:10 PM) - Announcements / Job opportunities / Sponsors

1810 hours (6:10 PM) to 1820 hours (6:20 PM) - Dan Bartholomew - CEO/Executive Director at Free Geek

1820 hours (6:20PM) to 1905 hours (7:05 PM) - Keynote speaker, followed by Q&A: Mark Browning - Executive Director at Veterans' Legacies Inc.

1905hours (7:05 PM) to 1930 hours (7:30 PM) - More networking and refreshments
