Portland Mini Maker Faire
Website
Description
Portland Mini Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people share what they are making and learning.
Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, artists, science clubs, students, authors, and commercial exhibitors. They are of all ages and backgrounds. Maker Faire’s mission is to entertain, inform, connect and inspire these thousands of Makers and aspiring Makers.
Close to 100 Makers will be participating in this year's Portland Mini Maker Faire and we are so excited about their creativity and enthusiasm.
Makers will run the gamut from the latest technology, including demonstrations of 3D printing robots, a Tesla coil and Frankenstein the Electric Bike; to rocket making, sustainable art, blacksmithing, welding, a motion-sensor sky diving game and much more.
Visitors can watch demonstrations and get hands on with projects that include twisted copper art; glass fusing; lighted jewelry made from metal, glass, crystals and LEDs; and a variety of upcycled art projects.
Not a Maker but still want to get involved? Consider volunteering! Contact OMSI Volunteer Coordinator Ashley VanOsdel for details or call 503.797.4615.
