Description

4pm-5:50pm, A session game exploring the subject of how and where technology and culture interact; an hour to mingle and discuss ideas; and 7pm-9pm in the evening an open Game.
Join us for either or both sessions. Email Dunbar Aitkens at [email protected] to RSVP for the first game, or just show up later- it’s easy to join in.
The Glass Plate Game, inspired by Hermann Hesse’s Glass Bead Game, is a conversation in the trappings of a board game: as players explore connections between ideas the game sparks creative and interesting dialog between the players. There are no winners or losers, and no set order of play. Conversation continues throughout, and anyone can make a move at any time. The end result is an artifact of the conversation that makes it easy to follow the twists and turns of the conversation.
Both sessions begin with an introduction to the game followed by a period of card creation to bring concepts from players’ own projects and interests into the game, then launch right into playing.
Come for fun, friends, and stimulating conversation.
