These edits, once reviewed for accuracy, go live on Google Maps and Google Earth, including mobile versions, for millions of people to see... in your community and beyond.</p> <p>Google Places is a local recommendation engine that helps connect people with places they like based on their personal tastes.</p> <p>The Google Map Maker Team and the Google Places Team are having a joint event at Ecotrust on Thursday, September 1st, from 6:00PM - 9:00PM. This event will include an interactive Map Maker workshop (“MapUp”) and a demonstration on how to provide quality reviews for establishments in and around the Portland Area. Come learn about Map Maker and Places, ask questions, make some edits, review some places, and learn how these applications can help your community.
