developing machine learning algorithms to help the scientists more quick

ground testing. Using this data we are aiding the scientists by matchin

DESCRIPTION:When we talk about market research\, we seek to understand ou
r customer’s needs or preferences to better frame our product or custome
r acquisition activities. In healthcare\, however\, the simple question
“who’s your customer” is oftentimes not as simple as it may seem. Is it
the patient that received benefit from your product? The physician that
prescribed or used your product? The payer that paid for your product?&#
13\;\n&#13\;\nIn this session\, we’ll explore the complexities of sellin
g into the US health system and discuss the role of a customer\, a user\
, and a buyer. One is not necessarily more important than the other\, bu
t it’s critical to understand the difference. Let's do a deep dive to fi
nd out.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nAbout the Speaker: Michael McGarry&#13\;\n&#13\;\
nMr. McGarry is the Founder and President of Forvida\, a customer-focuse
d consulting firm passionate about developing health solutions that enga
ge individuals and make health an everyday event. He launched Forvida in
2015 with over 20 years of experience in the health care industry devel
oping innovative programs and medical devices from prototype through FDA

DESCRIPTION:Details&#13\;\n&#13\;\nHigh technology is known for its lack
of diversity and inclusion but change is on the way - and technology may
be part of the solution!&#13\;\n&#13\;\nTrey Boynton\, Cisco's Director
of Inclusion &amp\; Collaboration Strategy &amp\; Solutions\, will shar
e the approach and vision of Cisco’s Inclusion and Collaboration strateg
 y. Specifically\, she will share how digitization across the global ente
rprise helps deliver outcomes in service of a diverse workforce and incl
usive culture. She will anchor her talk by showing two examples of Cisco
's use of technology\, namely the Multiplier Effect and our Social Justi
ce Beliefs and Actions. In addition\, she’ll highlight the thought leade
rship behind a few of the Inclusive Solutions that deliver on Cisco’s pr
omise to drive inclusion at scale.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nSpeaker: Trey Boynton
has spent her professional career working to create inclusive environmen
ts. For nearly 20 years\, she worked in university settings driving equi
ty and inclusion for students\, faculty\, and staff at the University of
Michigan.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nShe shifted to the tech industry in 2017 when
she joined Duo Security as their first head of diversity and inclusion.
As the lead for overall diversity strategy\, Trey envisioned a bold road
ahead for Duo and implemented company-wide programs and initiatives tha
t positively grew Duo’s magical culture and team. Duo achieved a milesto
ne in August 2018 when it was acquired by Cisco as a cornerstone of thei
r software-as-a-service (SAAS) cloud security business. In her new Cisco
role as the Global Lead for Inclusion Strategy &amp\; Alignment\, she m
anages a team dedicated to building and delivering on inclusion promises
and aspirations at scale.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nFor Trey\, inclusion work is d
eeply personal. She describes it as head and heart work centered on crea
ting space so that employees and teams are valued\, celebrated\, and abl
e to define their own success. In short\, her ultimate goal is to reduce
barriers to brilliance.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nOriginally from her beloved nort
hern California\, she studied at Spelman College\, Georgetown University
\, and the University of Michigan. Her most important job is helping her
two teen feminist daughters continue to be awesome and giving attention
to their needy dog\, Toby. In the two minutes of time\, she has left to
spare\, she fancies herself an overly hopeful San Francisco 49ers fan\,
a budding Lego engineer\, and an expert on all things Jane Austen.&#13\

DESCRIPTION:***NOTE: this meeting is on the 3rd TUESDAY because of the Ma
rtin Luther King\, Jr. holiday on Monday!***&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe 2020s ha
ve seen new and complex challenges for those fighting for reproductive f
reedom. In September of last year\, the Texas legislature passed one of
the most restrictive abortion bans in the nation\, prohibiting all proce
dures after 6 weeks\, without exceptions for rape or incest. But SB8 goe
s further\, giving citizens with no connection to the woman the right to
sue in civil court any person who aids her in seeking an abortion. As P
lanned Parenthood states\, this means that “private citizens can sue oth
er Texans for having or aiding in the procurement of an abortion — they
can sue anyone from the person who drives the patient to the clinic to t
he doctor who performs the abortion.” (https://www.plannedparenthoodacti
 on.org/planned-parenthood-pennsylvania-advocates/blog/how-did-texas-get-
to-sb8) As the EFF predicts\, “The result will be a chilling effect on s
peech and a litigation cudgel that will be used to silence those who see
k to give women truthful information about their reproductive options.”&
#13\;\n&#13\;\nSince 2017\, the Digital Defense Fund has brought enginee
rs and organizers together to provide security and technology support fo
r the abortion access movement. Kate Bertash\, Director of the DDF\, wil
l speak during our January event about the critical work the DDF does to
create &quot\;a future where technology and innovation support secure\,
autonomous reproductive decisions\, free from stigma.”&#13\;\n&#13\;\nS
