DESCRIPTION:If you had just five minutes to showcase your cutting-edge pr
oducts\, technologies\, or methodologies\, what would you say? What if y
ou were forced to present those ideas with 20 PowerPoint slides that eac
h rotated automatically after 15 seconds?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe Software As

speaker\, you'll land a platform that challenges not only the way you p

high-energy evening of 5-minute talks by local people who have an idea -
and the guts to get onstage and finally give that &quot\;elevator speec

for Submissions&#13\;\n&#13\;\n&#13\;\nCome present your very own engag

DESCRIPTION:Oregon Humanities’ 2015 Think &amp\; Drink series concludes w
ith a conversation with cultural anthropologist Genevieve Bell\, vice pr
esident of Intel’s corporate strategy office\, about how technologies af
fect our relationships with time\, space\, and each other. &#13\;\n&#13\
;\nAs a social scientist in a corporation of engineers\, Bell travels th
e world studying how people use technology in their homes and in public
and uses that knowledge to help shape technologies of the future.&#13\;\
n&#13\;\nThis work has taken some unusual directions. Bell and her Hills
boro-based team have cataloged the contents of strangers’ cars to better
understand how people use technology on the move\, equipped laptop comp
uters with outward-facing screens to encourage people to talk to one ano
ther in public spaces\, and developed a personal robot that can run apps
like a smart phone. The connecting thread of all her work\, as Bell put
s it\, is “the intersection of tech and culture.”&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThink &
