The FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting\, multinational compe tition that teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way. \;\n \;\nThe re gional competition is an annual event that challenges high school studen ts to design\, build\, and program a robot that competes in live action to measure the effectiveness of each robot and the power of team strateg y/collaboration. Following a kick-off announcement in January\, all team s have only six weeks to brainstorm and build their robots – robots are designed to compete with one another using the same kit of parts and sta ndard set of rules. Top winners go on to compete in national trials.
