DESCRIPTION:**TA3M is back\, and we have a great meeting lined up for you
!**&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThere have been a number of stories in the news latel
y about hacking and data breaches\, and we all want our personal data to
be secure. In order to prevent these attacks on our privacy\, an impor
tant step is to **identify any vulnerabilities** in the computer systems
that store our private data before those faults can be used to steal th
e data. And that's where **penetration testing** comes in. Penetration
testing\, or &quot\;pentesting\,&quot\; is a process of attacking compu
ter systems in order to find security weaknesses so that they can be fix
ed before criminals and other malicious actors find and take advantage o
f them.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nPlease join us for a fascinating presentation tha
t will examine some common computer attacks and preventative steps that
we can take to avoid them. **Karl Fosaaen\,** from **NetSPI\,** will ta
lk about working as a pentester and will discuss avoiding exploits in ap
plications and networks and how to counter social engineering attacks.&#
13\;\n&#13\;\n**We'll have snacks\,** and there will be an opportunity f
or networking following the talk. We hope to see you there!&#13\;\n&#13
 \;\n**Speaker Bio:**&#13\;\n&#13\;\nKarl is a Managing Consultant with N
etSPI who specializes in network and web application penetration testing
. With over eight years of consulting experience in the computer securit
y industry\, he has worked in a variety of industries and has made his w
ay through many Active Directory domains. Karl also holds a BS in Comput

fair amount of time digging into the Skype for Business APIs. Prior to t

. Karl has previously spoken at THOTCON\, BSidesMSP\, BSidesPDX\, and De

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a combined meeting with Seattle TA3M!&#13\;\n&#13
\;\nCongress has recently repealed the upcoming Internet privacy protect
ions that the FCC passed back in 2015. Those protections required Inter
net Service Providers (ISPs) to get permission from their users before s
elling user data to third parties. Now\, ISPs will be able to sell our
Internet browsing histories and other data to the highest bidder.&#13\;\
n&#13\;\nBut wait… You don't have to give them all of your data!&#13\;\
n&#13\;\nYou can instead use Tor\, also known as The Onion Router\, to e
ncrypt your search requests and browsing activity and route your Interne
t traffic through a distributed network of relays (run by volunteers aro
und the world) in order to protect your privacy. Tor prevents anyone wa
tching your Internet connection from seeing your location or which websi
tes you visit. It can also help you to access blocked sites.&#13\;\n&#1
3\;\nAlison Macrina\, from the Library Freedom Project will be talking t
 o both groups\, Seattle TA3M and us\, via teleconference. She'll explai
n how Tor works\, how you can set it up\, and how you can help Tor to ma
ke the network more secure for all users.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWe'll have snac
ks\, and there will be an opportunity for networking following the talk.
We hope to see you there!&#13\;\n&#13\;\n&#13\;\nSpeaker bio:&#13\;\n&
 #13\;\nAlison Macrina is a librarian\, internet activist\, the founder a
nd director of the Library Freedom Project\, and a core contributor to T
he Tor Project. Alison is passionate about connecting surveillance issue
s to larger global struggles for justice\, demystifying privacy and secu
rity technologies for ordinary users\, and resisting an internet control

DESCRIPTION:We have a problem with federal telecommunications policy in t
he US. The problem is that federal regulators have decided that\, inste
ad of regulating\, they would rely on competition\, but competition does
n't occur naturally because of the de facto requirement to build your ow
n infrastructure in order to compete. This leaves users vulnerable to ec
onomic predation by the owners of the infrastructure.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nMun
icipal Broadband PDX is a newly formed group that wants to solve this pr
 oblem by creating a publicly-owned network infrastructure.&#13\;\n&#13\;
\nRussell Senior\, a member of Municipal Broadband PDX and president of
the Personal Telco Project\, has been advocating for this type of infras
tructure for years. He'll talk to us about federal policy\, the monopol
istic conditions that result\, and the abuses those monopolistic conditi
ons allow. He'll also explain how a public telecommunications utility s
olves these problems and what such a network might look like. There wil
l be a short video included in the presentation.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nPlease j

ares about network freedom. We operate public-access wifi networks in a
bout about 60 locations around the area\, where other volunteers have ag
reed to host them (you can too!). About 120\,000 unique devices connect
to our networks annually. About 5\,000 of those are habitual users. I
f you connect to one of our networks\, we don't know who you are\, and w
e don't care what you do\; we just ask you not to get the host of the ne
twork in trouble. Russell has been President of Personal Telco since 20
09.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nRussell has had a 20+ year career as a research progr
ammer and data manager. He did a 13-month hitch at the National Science
Foundation funded Science and Technology Center for Coastal Margin Obse
rvation and Prediction in 2015-2016 and got to work on ocean glider and
fixed station measurement data. He did a week-long research cruise from
Newport\, Oregon to about Longview\, Washington on the Columbia River\,
mapping the ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore mesh network they use\, as w
ell as participating in vertical profiling of the ocean\, estuary and ri
ver waters. Russell has been using Linux since 1992 and has been doing
embedded Linux programming\, primarily OpenWrt/LEDE on wireless routers
for over a decade and has helped develop wifi-based consumer products.&#

DESCRIPTION:News today is thick with stories of government agencies tryin
g to find digital evidence of wrongdoing: interrogating mobile phones fo
 r evidence\, tracing emails to find a stalker or looking at a killer’s s
earch history to discover motives. Digital forensic analysis now plays a
pivotal role in both corporate and legal investigations. However\, few
outside of the industry understand the intricacies involved in a forensi
c undertaking — the capabilities and limitations of the forensics invest
igative process\, the role of the digital forensic investigator or the e
xtent of the laws governing these actions.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIn this sessio
n\, Tiberius Hefflin\, Founder of Go Boldly\, will delve into the basics
of digital forensics. Attendees will learn what digital forensics draws
from forensic science\, how the law informs what a forensic investigato
r is ethically able to do\, the many uses of digital forensics\, evidenc
 e collection methods\, anti-forensics methods\, what the incident respon
se process should look like and how they can maintain crime scene integr
ity until investigators can carry out an assessment.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWhil

later\, please post a note to the meeting page on Meetup\, and we'll wor

bined meeting with Seattle TA3M!&#13\;\n&#13\;\nDetails about the meetin
g location and parking are listed at the end.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n&#13\;\nYou
are probably in a criminal face recognition network.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nDid
you know that half of US adults are in a face-recognition database? If
you live in Oregon or Washington state\, your face data is stored in you
r state's driver license database. Both states use facial recognition so
ftware to prevent driver license fraud and neither currently shares thei
r databases with law enforcement. But what if that changes?&#13\;\n&#13\
;\nFacial recognition can be useful for some things\, like unlocking our
phones\, but companies and governments can also use the technology for
their own purposes — without our consent. While the technology has made
great advances in accuracy\, many programs still have difficulty with da
rker faces\, women\, and children. And a number of questions still exist
in other areas including privacy\, consent\, discrimination\, and wheth
er the technology will be used for general\, suspicionless surveillance.
&#13\;\n&#13\;\nClare Garvie and her colleagues at Georgetown Law's Cent
er on Privacy and Technology did a year-long investigation on police use
of facial recognition\, and the result of their research is a paper cal
led &quot\;The Perpetual Line-Up: Unregulated Police Face Recognition in
  America&quot\; (https://www.perpetuallineup.org/). She'll share insight
s from the study and tell us how the information has already been put to
use in shaping policy for the use of facial recognition technology by g
overnment. She'll be speaking to both groups\, Seattle TA3M and us\, via
teleconference.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nJoin us for a great presentation and dis

DESCRIPTION:In today's news\, we see plenty of stories about how Artifici
al Intelligence (AI) is changing the world. There are many potential ben
efits to be gained from AI\, but there are also a number of concerns abo
ut how it will affect our lives moving into the future. What exactly is
artificial intelligence anyway?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIn 1986\, the mathematici
an and philosopher Gian-Carlo Rota wrote\, “I wonder whether or when art
ificial intelligence will ever crash the barrier of meaning.” Here\, the
phrase “barrier of meaning” refers to a belief about humans versus mach
ines. Humans are able to “actually understand” the situations they encou
nter\, whereas AI systems (at least current ones) do not possess such un
derstanding. The internal representations learned by (or programmed into
) AI systems do not capture the rich “meanings” that humans bring to bea
 r in perception\, language\, and reasoning.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIn this talk\
, Melanie Mitchell\, a professor of Artificial Intelligence and Machine
Learning at Portland State University\, will assess the state of the art
of artificial intelligence in several domains and describe some of thei
r current limitations and vulnerabilities\, which can be accounted for b
y a lack of true understanding of the domains they work in.&#13\;\n&#13\
;\nAudience participation in the discussion will be encouraged\, and tog
ether\, we'll explore the following questions:&#13\;\n	- To be reliable
in human domains\, what do AI systems actually need to “understand”?&#13
 \;\n	- Which domains require human-like understanding?&#13\;\n	- What do
es such understanding entail?&#13\;\n&#13\;\n&#13\;\nJoin us for a great

DESCRIPTION:On September 9th\, the Portland City Council passed two facia
l recognition ban bills. With the first\, the City joined a group of thi
rteen other cities in addressing use of the technology by public agencie
 s. Portland went a step further\, though\, and became the first city in
the US\, and possibly the world\, to also ban use of facial recognition
technology by private entities!&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWhile banning facial reco
gnition limits tracking of our faces as we go about our daily lives\, a
number of other biometric technologies such as gait recognition\, iris a
nd retina scans\, and heartbeat recognition can be used to work around t
hese bans. Even non-biometric technologies\, like automatic license plat
e readers (ALPR) and social media monitoring\, can also be used to track
our movements and actions. For this reason\, the City must also conside
r limiting use of other surveillance technologies and create a broader s
urveillance ordinance.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nSeveral US cities\, including Seat
 tle\, Oakland\, and Somerville\, MA\, have adopted such ordinances\, whi
ch typically require public input as well as City Council approval befor
e surveillance technologies can be used by government agencies.&#13\;\n&
#13\;\nThis presentation will cover a brief overview of the Seattle Surv
eillance Ordinance\, recommendations for Portland privacy/tech activists
about passing a Portland Surveillance Ordinance\, and recent activism h
appening regarding the use of biometric technologies at the Port of Seat
tle (namely at SeaTac airport). The overarching focus will be more on sp
ecific takeaways for Portland based on what activists have learned in Se
attle. It will also touch on the broader collection of biometric informa
tion. Since Seattle has one of the earliest Surveillance Ordinances in t
he nation\, it also has a number of imperfections (like any beta or v1 s
oftware). There are some important lessons that Portland could learn fro
m Seattle\, in the hopes of Portland eventually having a stronger Survei
llance Ordinance of its own.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe first roughly 45 minutes
will consist of the presentation and the remaining time is set aside fo
r questions and discussion. Please bring your questions! We hope for a l
ively and interactive discussion after the presentation.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n

DESCRIPTION:Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs)\, Closed Circuit Tele
vision Cameras (CCTV)\, Gunshot Detection\, Predictive Policing Software
 \, Social Media Monitoring\, Stingrays\, and Surveillance-Enabled Light
Bulbs — these are just some of the technologies available to law enforce
ment to monitor and track residents. Which of these technologies are cur
rently being used in Portland\, and what are the policies for their use?
How do we know if usage or policies change?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThere are ma
ny factors to consider when adopting surveillance technologies like thes
e: What are the costs and benefits? When\, and in what manner\, will a c
apability be used? Who will be the target of surveillance? Will it make
us safer? What are we giving up in exchange for that safety? And should
a particular technology be adopted at all?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIn order to an
swer these questions\, some cities—like Cambridge\, New Orleans\, San Fr
ancisco\, Oakland\, and Seattle—have passed ordinances that regulate the
acquisition and use of surveillance technologies. These ordinances ofte
n require the approval of a city council or other legislative body befor
e a city agency can acquire a particular technology or change the way in
which a current technology is used.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nShould Portland pass
this type of ordinance\, and if so\, how might the law work?&#13\;\n&#1
3\;\nOn March 15th\, join us for a combined event\, with local privacy g
roup PDX Privacy\, where we'll ask our insightful panelists the answers
to these questions. During the conversation\, we'll explore the chilling

to look for in a strong ordinance\, and how to build coalitions and eng
age lawmakers.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWe'll have a Q&amp\;A period via the chat

DESCRIPTION:Did you know that\, on June 2\, 2015\, the Oakland City Counc
il established the first municipal Privacy Commission in the United Stat
es?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWhat is a privacy advisory commission? What types of
privacy issues does it address? Who does it advise? How does it work? Sh
ould Portland have one?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThese are some of the questions w
e'll explore this month as the City of Portland looks to rethink surveil
lance.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBrian Hofer\, Executive Director of Secure Justice
and Chair of the Oakland Privacy Advisory Commission\, will join us to
talk about his work on Oakland's commission and how that agency came int
o being. He'll also talk about how such an advisory body might work here
in Portland.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThis is a great opportunity to learn about
potential privacy-related happenings in Portland and how you can get inv

Executive Director of Secure Justice and Chair of the Oakland Privacy A

nd and successfully fought for a permanent committee tasked with oversig
ht of surveillance equipment. That committee is now the Oakland Privacy
Advisory Commission.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBrian also successfully introduced o
rdinances throughout the greater Bay Area at both the county and city le
vel to implement significant surveillance equipment reforms\, advised on
and advocated for state legislation impacting the right to privacy and
surveillance oversight\, and coordinated with and advised groups around
the country on how to implement reforms through legislation and policy w
riting. He is presently consulting with various cities across the countr

DESCRIPTION:At the last several meetings\, we looked at how municipalitie
s use surveillance technologies and how the public can have input into t
he acquisition and use process related to these systems.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n
But what about private entities? How are they using technology to survei
l us? And what happens when private organizations fund surveillance tech
or enter into contracts with city governments to provide surveillance s
ervices?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThis month\, local Portland tech journalist Kate
Kaye will join us to talk about the ways companies and other private en
tities are surveilling the public and what that means for our privacy an
d government policies for tech and data use. Kate is the creator of the
the City Surveillance Watch podcast\, a three-part scripted series delvi

ns. She also is one of the only journalists anywhere to track closely th

DESCRIPTION:Join us to discuss and contribute to the development of the C
ity’s surveillance technologies policy by exploring what surveillance te
chnologies are and how Portlanders can have better control of technology
being deployed and used in the city.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIn this codesign ev
ent\, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about existing city p
olicies on privacy and digital justice\, and contribute to the city surv
eillance policy development and outcomes that are going to inform the po
licy.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nListen to an introductory presentation from City st
aff to learn about surveillance technologies policy development and how
other communities define Community Control over Surveillance Technologie
s (CCOS).&#13\;\n&#13\;\nJoin other participants in breakout rooms to ex
plore:&#13\;\n&#13\;\n- An updated definition of surveillance technologi
 es considering emergent tech and impacts in the Portland community&#13\;
\n&#13\;\n- What Community Control over Surveillance Technologies (CCOS)
governance could look like in Portland&#13\;\n&#13\;\n- Listen to other
participants and share your experiences for how surveillance technologi
es impact residents and visitors in Portland&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThis event i
s open to all Portlanders and is organized in collaboration with Smart C
ity PDX\, the City of Portland's Office of Equity and Human Rights\, PDX
Privacy\, and Cascadia Partners.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBackground on City of P
ortland privacy and surveillance policy development:&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe
City of Portland is working on developing a comprehensive surveillance/
privacy policy. This policy will create the transparency and accountabil
ity processes for use and purchase of surveillance technologies. It will
also define roles and responsibilities for decision making\, oversight\
, and implementing aspects of this policy.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe Smart City
PDX program and the Office of Equity and Human Rights are coordinating
policy development actions\, including policy drafting\, City of Portlan
 d agencies coordination\, and public engagement.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThese po
licies need to be informed by those most impacted. Negative impacts of s
urveillance technologies are disproportionately experienced by Black\, I
ndigenous\, and People of Color communities. Abuses derived from surveil
lance technologies can endanger people’s freedoms\, civil rights\, and l
 iberties.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nExisting Portland policies define surveillance
technologies as any software\, electronic device\, system utilizing an e
lectronic device\, or similar used\, designed\, or primarily intended to
  collect\, retain\, analyze\, process\, or share audio\, electronic\, vi
 sual\, location\, thermal\, olfactory\, biometric\, or similar informati
on specifically associated with\, or capable of being associated with\,
any individual or group.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThis definition covers certain s
 urveillance technologies\; however\, emergent technologies\, including a
rtificial intelligence and predictive inference algorithms\, are not nec
essarily covered by this definition. The City is exploring an updated de
finition of surveillance technologies that includes these new and emerge
nt information technologies.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nRead more about the policy r
 oadmap and engagement plan here:&#13\;\nhttps://www.smartcitypdx.com/new

DESCRIPTION:***NOTE: this meeting is on the 3rd TUESDAY because of the Ma
rtin Luther King\, Jr. holiday on Monday!***&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe 2020s ha
ve seen new and complex challenges for those fighting for reproductive f
reedom. In September of last year\, the Texas legislature passed one of
the most restrictive abortion bans in the nation\, prohibiting all proce
dures after 6 weeks\, without exceptions for rape or incest. But SB8 goe
s further\, giving citizens with no connection to the woman the right to
sue in civil court any person who aids her in seeking an abortion. As P
lanned Parenthood states\, this means that “private citizens can sue oth
er Texans for having or aiding in the procurement of an abortion — they
can sue anyone from the person who drives the patient to the clinic to t
he doctor who performs the abortion.” (https://www.plannedparenthoodacti
 on.org/planned-parenthood-pennsylvania-advocates/blog/how-did-texas-get-
to-sb8) As the EFF predicts\, “The result will be a chilling effect on s
peech and a litigation cudgel that will be used to silence those who see
k to give women truthful information about their reproductive options.”&
#13\;\n&#13\;\nSince 2017\, the Digital Defense Fund has brought enginee
rs and organizers together to provide security and technology support fo
r the abortion access movement. Kate Bertash\, Director of the DDF\, wil

DESCRIPTION:Earlier this year\, the Oregon State Legislature was consider
ing adoption of bill HB 4136\, which would have required the Secretary o
f State to establish a digital voting system allowing voters to cast the
 ir ballots electronically—via a computer\, electronic tablet\, cellphone
\, or another digital device.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe measure remained in com
mittee and never came to a vote\, but legislators may be planning to int
roduce a new version of the bill in next year's longer session.&#13\;\n&
#13\;\nShould you be happy or concerned about the prospect of cellphone
voting?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nCurrently\, over twenty pilot programs are in pla
ce across the country to test the feasibility of mobile voting. Proponen
ts argue that cellphone voting could increase voter turnout\, and voting
from the comfort of your mobile phone sounds easy\, right? But is it re
ally a good idea?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBefore giving this technology a stamp o
f approval\, we need to consider some of the issues around the process o
f electronic voting. For example\, is it secure? Does it protect voter p
rivacy? And how would we verify election results?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nDr. Ste
phanie Singer and Sheila Golden have been focused on election systems fo
r many years. Ms. Golden is well known in Oregon for her advocacy around
election technology\, while Dr. Singer is known nationwide for her expe
rtise on election technology and processes. They'll join us this month t
o explore the pros and cons of voting via cellphone and will explain how
such a system would work\, who's behind the effort to adopt mobile voti
ng\, and why voting from our phones may or may not be a good course of a
ction.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBring your questions\, and come learn how you can

DESCRIPTION:As you've likely seen in local media lately\, gun violence in
Portland has been on the rise. In response\, the City of Portland commi
ssioned a task force to study the issue and recommend actions that city
commissioners can take to address the issue and solve the problem (reduc
e gun violence). After several months of meetings\, the Focused Interven
tion Team / Community Oversight Group (FIT/COG) submitted a recommendati
on to Mayor Ted Wheeler in favor of adopting ShotSpotter gunshot detecti
on technology.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWhat is ShotSpotter\, and how does it work
? Are its results accurate and is the technology effective? Has it been
successful in other cities that have implemented it? What are the trade-
offs\, and would the benefits outweigh the costs — in terms of both fina
ncial and negative impacts to the community?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nJoin us for
a two-part event to learn more about ShotSpotter and other gunshot detec
tion systems and forms of acoustic surveillance! Decide for yourself whe
ther this tool might be effective in solving Portland's gun violence pro
blem.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nDuring the event's first half\, learn from our pane
lists how ShotSpotter and other gunshot detection technologies work and
how they've performed in other cities.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe second half of
the meeting will be a workshop\, where you can learn more about what ha
ppens with the FIT/COG recommendation. Ways you can provide input into w
hether ShotSpotter should be installed in Portland.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBring

DESCRIPTION:As you likely know\, cities around the world are increasingly
adopting surveillance technologies in the hope of solving a variety of
problems. While these technologies may have potential benefits for a cit

crease transparency and accountability in the use of surveillance techno

DESCRIPTION:In February of last year\, Portland's City Council passed a s
urveillance policy resolution to increase transparency and accountabilit
y in the use of surveillance technologies in Portland. As part of the re
solution\, Smart City PDX has been tasked with designing and implementin
g a citywide inventory of surveillance technologies owned or used by Cit
y Bureaus. During the summer\, Smart City PDX and the Office of Equity a
nd Human Rights held a series of public events and released a survey to
gather input from local communities to help determine what information s
hould be included in the inventory.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nAfter analyzing the p
ublic comments\, Smart City PDX recently released a draft version of the
surveillance technologies inventory specification\, which is available
 here:&#13\;\nhttps://www.portland.gov/bps/smart-city-pdx/surveillance-po
 licy/documents/surveillance-technologies-inventory-specification/downloa
 d&#13\;\n&#13\;\nAt this month's meeting\, Hector Dominguez\, Open Data
Coordinator at Smart City PDX\, within Portland's Bureau of Planning and
Sustainability\, will join us to discuss the draft surveillance technol
ogy inventory specification and to share details of how you can still gi
ve input into the inventory.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nCome to the meeting\, and le
arn about Portland's surveillance inventory\, and bring your questions!&
#13\;\n&#13\;\nThis event is co-hosted by PDX Privacy and Portland's Tec

DESCRIPTION:City governments and police everywhere use drones -- to help
fight fires\, monitor bridge equipment\, or respond to critical incident
 s. But drones have their dark sides\, and their potential for invasive o
ver-surveillance and harmful privacy impacts is profound.&#13\;\n&#13\;\
nPortland City Council voted unanimously in September to expand Portland
Police Bureau’s drone program. Join Portland Investigative Journalist a
nd Researcher Kate Kaye to learn about Portland Police Bureau’s drones\,
what these flying devices can do\, how police have actually used them\,
and what city policy addressing drones and other surveillance tech does
  – and does not do. Kate will also share how others can help conduct sim
ilar research\, and save lots of time for your questions.&#13\;\n&#13\;\
nDid you know:&#13\;\n&#13\;\n - Portland Police Bureau drone use has in
creased drastically - rising from between six and 18 times each month fr
om June 2023 through October 2024 to more than 40 times in November 2024
.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n - Some of Portland Police Bureau’s drones include came
ras that can zoom-in on people and vehicles and track them from a far-of
 f distance.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n - In many cases\, PPB’s drones have been fl
own in neighborhoods where more people of color live and where poverty r
ates are higher than in other parts of the city and in Portland as a who
le.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n - Portland Police have flown drones inside a family’
s apartment and to monitor or search for people including juveniles.&#13
\;\n&#13\;\n - PPB’s gun violence unit has patrolled neighborhoods in un
marked vehicles equipped with drones ready to deploy.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nPle
ase RSVP via Meetup or by sending an email to events@ta3mportland.org.&#
