DESCRIPTION:AIGA Portland and 52 Limited invite you for an evening with J
elly Helm.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWhat’s happening with the business of advertis
ing? What will the post-consumer economy look like? What is going on in
sustainability? Jelly Helm is the first to admit that he doesn’t know. B
ut that’s not going to stop him from speculating about it in public\, to
anyone willing to pay for it. In the spirit of Designspeaks\, Jelly’s p
resentation will be full of cockamamie theories\, wishful thinking and (
at least some) poetry. He may also give us a sneak peek of the new work
he’s done with the Oregon Council for the Humanities\, and get all froth
y about his newest client\, Wikipedia. You’ll be anything but disappoint
ed.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nSo be sure to join us\, to engage with Jelly and othe
rs\, and consider what has passed and what may come. Seating is limited\
, so please reserve your spot now.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nCost:&#13\;\nMembers:
 $8 in advance/$10 at the door&#13\;\nNon-Members: $18 in advance/$20 at
 the door&#13\;\nStudents: $5&#13\;\n&#13\;\nA selection of beer\, wine a
nd non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. ID required for beer and wi
 ne.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nAbout Jelly Helm&#13\;\nJelly Helm is a writer\, desi
gner\, film director\, creative director\, and teacher. His clients incl
ude Imperial Woodpecker\, Oregon Humanities\, Infectious Diseases Resear
ch Institute and Wikipedia. He is formerly an executive creative directo
 r at Wieden + Kennedy\, and founder of W+K 12.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nAbout Desi
gnspeaks&#13\;\nThe Designspeaks series\, developed by Portland AIGA and
in partnership with 52 Limited\, showcases the most intriguing designer
s in the Pacific Northwest. Some of our guest speakers in this quarterly
series will be stars and some will have managed to maintain a lower pro
file\, but we can assure you\; all will challenge you to think a bit dif
ferently about design and its impact on community. We’re continually twe
aking this series as an intimate venue for the creative community to con
nect to others\, to see what they are doing and how they’re doing it. Th
ere is no specific format for Designspeaks. Basically\, it’s a small tal
ks gathering intended to inform\, inspire and engage.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nLau
gh. Cry. Ask questions\, please. But whatever you do\, join us! Won’t yo
 u?\n\nTags: design\, adverstising\, weiden\, kennedy\, jelly\, conversat
