DESCRIPTION:Join us November 5th at 6 PM for Chris Anderson's introductio
n to the CouchDB framework. Chris is a Portland-based entrepreneur at Gr
abb.it and the co-author of an upcoming O'Reilly book on CouchDB.&#13\;\
 n&#13\;\nApache CouchDB is a distributed\, fault-tolerant and schema-fre
e document-oriented database accessible via a RESTful HTTP/JSON API. Amo
ng other features\, it provides robust\, incremental replication with bi
-directional conflict detection and resolution\, and is queryable and in
dexable using a table-oriented view engine with JavaScript acting as the
default view definition language.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nCouchDB is written in
Erlang\, but can be easily accessed from any environment that provides m
eans to make HTTP requests. There are a multitude of third-party client
libraries that make this even easier for a variety of programming langua
ges and environments.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThis event is free to the public. I
n order to accommodate the appropriate number of attendees\, please rsvp
to: thomas@opensourcery.com.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe event takes place at Op
enSourcery: 711 SE Ankeny (on Ankeny and SE 7th\, one block south of Bur
nside). We encourage biking and public transportation.\n\nTags: open sou
