As consumer-centered care takes over a s the norm\, the expectations for care delivery services and access to h ealth care are being compared to other services in our day to day life. Consumers are beginning to ask why things can’t be easier and why peopl e in the healthcare industry can’t seem to cooperate to make the lives o f consumers easier. Everyone in the industry has clearly gotten the mes sage that consumer-centered healthcare is where the industry is heading\ ; however\, IT is still viewed as a barrier and an enabler. \;\n \;\nEnterprise architects have the difficult role of trying to help tran sform organizations to improve access to care by defining the business\, information\, technology and application architectures required to impr ove access to healthcare. At the same time\, they are expected to solve the problem from the consumer’s perspective and make a complex healthca re system appear to be easy to navigate from the consumer’s perspective. This is especially true in analytical workloads involving Azure SQL when there is a need to either fully reload a table or incrementally upd ate a table. In order to handle the logic to incrementally update a tabl e or fully reload a table in Azure SQL (or Azure Synapse)\, we will need to create the following assets: \;\n• Metadata table in Azure SQL 3\;\n◦ This will contain the configurations needed to load each table en d to end \;\n• Metadata driven pipelines \;\n◦ Parent and child pi peline templates that will orchestrate and execute the ETL/ELT end to en d \;\n• Custom SQL logic for incremental processing \;\n◦ Dynamic SQL to perform the delete and insert based on criteria the user provides in the metadata table \;\n \;\nThis session uses Azure SQL DB as the source and sink databases.
