 to Data Governance late in her career\, but having a data-centric view o
 f software has been a common thread throughout her work. Her software de
 velopment background has given her a practical perspective on how to wor
 k with software development teams to improve Data Governance outcomes. C
 hristina has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Houston\,
  and an M.S. in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the Unive
 rsity of Washington Bothell. Christina is certified as a Collibra Expert
  Level 2.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nAbstract&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWe have shifted our foc
 us from governing data when an initiative is complete\, to beginning dat
 a governance during the design phase of the software development lifecyc
 le. We walk with our development teams to ensure that governance is bake
 d into the plan\, not an afterthought. We determine the level of governa
 nce that is needed for new data products during design. This ensures tha
 t the development teams are not surprised by our governance requirements
 \, reducing remediation\, and improving the quality of the data products
  from their inception.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThis presentation will include:&#1
