 ? Doug Schepers will share some of his work on how to create equivalent

  an important part of the web\, but often&#13\;\nhide critical informati
 on from people with disabilities of vision\,&#13\;\ncognition\, and othe
 rs. But there are many ways to provide inclusive&#13\;\naffordances that
  use other senses\, especially hearing and touch\, to&#13\;\nconvey comp
 lex information. This talk will explore some of the&#13\;\nchallenges an
 d different methods to overcome them using advanced&#13\;\ntechniques li
 ke text equivalents\, sonification\, haptics and tactiles\,&#13\;\nand m

 ](https://fizz.studio/)\, an accessible data visualization startup in Ch
 apel Hill\, NC\, USA. He develop his ideas and early prototypes for acce
 ssible charts while working with the accessibility community at W3C. As 
 a developer who defined Web technologies and standards at W3C for a deca
 de\, he launched or worked on fundamental projects such as SVG (and the 
 Accessible SVG Task Force)\, WebApps\, Web Audio API\, Touch Events and 
 Pointer Events\, Web Annotations\, and many other technologies\, as well
  as starting the W3C developer relations program. He believes in positiv
 e social change through building communities and interoperable open tech
