 \;\nA key-signing party is a get-together with PGP users for the purpose
  of meeting other PGP users and signing each other's keys. This helps to
  extend the &quot\;web of trust&quot\; to a great degree. Also\, it some
 times serves as a forum to discuss strong cryptography and related issue
 s.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n## What if I don't have a key yet?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIf y
 ou don't have a PGP key yet\, this is a good chance to get your feet wet
 . If you bring a computer\, you can generate a test key at the event and
  experiment with sending messages to others there. It can be helpful to 
 have someone present to walk you through the process the first time. It 
 is recommended that you only generate a test key at the event\, and late
 r generate your real key in private. See below for links to some helpful
  resources for securely generating a key.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n## What do I ne
 ed for this party?&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIf you are bringing a key to sign\, th
 en make sure you bring:&#13\;\n&#13\;\n* A picture ID or some other way 
 for people to match you to your identity&#13\;\n* Your key ID\, key type
 \, hex fingerprint\, and key size. You can print out slips of paper to h
 and out your key info if you'd like.&#13\;\n* A pen/pencil or whatever y
 ou'd like to write with&#13\;\n* A computer is not required\, and it is 
 not recommended to use your computer to sign keys at the event&#13\;\n&#
 13\;\nAt the event\, you'll meet others\, confirm their key ID in person
 \, and swap key IDs with them. Later when you get home\, you can downloa
 d the full keys and sign them\, then upload the signature to the keyserv
