It produces a simple metric that is easy to communicate to business stakeholders and management in a consistent way\, encouraging IQ conversations where frequently overlook ed or excluded. In some situations\, unbounded storage of c ollected measurements may be impractical or unnecessary. Round Robin Dat abases are designed to store and maintain multiple time-series archives at varying resolutions. They employ methods that allow the storage of mo nths or even years of data. \;\n \;\nWe will explore one such tool \, RRDtool\, a project started at the Center for Applied Internet Data A nalysis. At first\, this open source tool helped with collecting and rep orting on internet traffic. Since that time\, it has inspired many other uses and tools.
