DESCRIPTION:_Join us for an exciting talk &amp\; discussion with ALCU Boa
rd Member\, Stuart Kaplan!_&#13\;\n&#13\;\n**How technology changes the
relationship between freedom of expression and privacy**&#13\;\n&#13\;\n
Technology complicates the relationship between free speech and personal

eillance of public spaces limits freedom of assembly and movement. &#13\
;\n&#13\;\nThis presentation will examine several recent attempts to fin
d a fair and workable balance between privacy protection and free speech
goals by the courts and legislatures. Particular attention will be giv
en to the work of the American Civil Liberties Union to craft policies t
hat address the many challenges to privacy and speech rights presented b
 y a variety of technologies.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n**Speaker Bio**&#13\;\n&#13\
