DESCRIPTION:**Please RSVP on Eventbrite**&#13\;\n&#13\;\nJoin us for our
third annual summer soiree in partnership with Women Who Code\, Lesbians
Who Tech\, ChickTech\, PyLadies PDX\, Girls Inc. hosted by Cambia!&#13\
;\n&#13\;\nPortland often prides itself on being inclusive\, and the tec
h scene is no exception. We think of ourselves as being the welcoming te
ch city and congratulate ourselves for our diversity pledges. We read st
ories and articles on our feeds depicting the inequities — and sometimes
monstrosities — our neighbors to the south\, in Silicon Valley\, face.
We feel thankful those thingsdon’t happen here. Unfortunately\, those th
ings *do* happen here\, often in the shadows\, but those involved don’t
know whom to tell or where to go.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nAt this year’s summer s
oiree\, our theme is dedicated to openly discussing how we can change th
e Portland tech culture to be more inclusive\, moving away from the bro-
culture\, and discussing how this community and our allies can work toge
ther to make the Portland tech scene a more welcoming place for all. Our
conversation starter is “Which label are you sick of hearing in Tech? (
 e.g. bro-grammer\, lady-boss\, man-splainer\, etc...).”&#13\;\n&#13\;\nE
 vent Agenda:&#13\;\n&#13\;\n5:30pm - Doors open &#13\;\n&#13\;\n6:15pm -
  Introductions &#13\;\n&#13\;\n6:30pm - Panel begins &#13\;\n&#13\;\n7:3
0pm - Networking&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe summer soiree is a mixture of networ
king and speaking segments\, and we will be joined by a diverse group of
panelists who will share their stories and insights\, leaving us with i
deas and next steps to strive for the change we desire:&#13\;\n&#13\;\n•
Moderator: Terra Soma\, Senior Organizational Development and Change Co
nsultant at Legacy Health&#13\;\n&#13\;\n• Lori DeLone\, CIO Health Plan
 s at Cambia&#13\;\n&#13\;\n• Ryan Carson\, CEO Treehouse&#13\;\n&#13\;\n
 • Deena Pierott\, Founder iUrbanTeen and Black Women in Tech Advisory Bo
ard member&#13\;\n&#13\;\n• Katharine Nester\, Chief Product and Technol
ogy Office Ruby Receptionists&#13\;\n&#13\;\nDuring the event\, we’ll ha
ve an Activity Table where people can get creative. This is a fantastic
way to meet others if large groups are not your thing. If you have troub
le finding it\, look for Meg Aul\, our Event Activities Director.&#13\;\
