The best archaeology-related films in the world are coming to Portland for two weekends this January and you won’t want to miss it! Grab a friend, bring the family and head down to the Fifth Avenue Cinema for four evenings of fun and entertainment. For the final weekend, Jan 19th and 20th, films included in this mini-festival are the best and brightest from The Archaeology Channel International Film Festival 2017, annually held in Eugene, Oregon. This exciting event is a rare glimpse into international culture, language and heritage and its enriching for people from all walks of life. Films featured in this festival range from places such as India, Malaysia, France and more, so take a break from the rain and the mundane and come on down for some educational and family friendly fun. The film chronicles the true nature of design and the design-driven business revolutions being shaped around the world through the designers' eyes.

Hosted by the PNCA Collaborative Design MFA program at the PNCA Mediatheque, this screening will be a chance to mingle with Delight attendees, local professionals and PNCA design MFA's.

Please join the Chasing Grace Project for the Portland premiere of Episode #2: Progress & the Power of Community. It will be screened as a double feature with Episode #1: Eighty Twenty and include the expanding Chasing Grace Project photo exhibit Persistence. This second episode in the series of six originally premiered at the Saturday Night Live studio at 30 Rock in New York but will be seen for the first time by the Portland community at this special event. The Chasing Grace series launched in Portland, Ore., home to the executive producer, writer and director Jennifer Cloer, with the premiere of Episode #1: Eighty Twenty in March 2018. Both episode #1 and #2 feature women from Portland.

Episode #2 explores whether or not we're making progress in the fight for equality in the tech industry and how the role of community is helping to elevate women in their careers and support them in speaking out and challenging the status quo. The Chasing Grace Project is a docuseries of six episodes that seeks to build a more inclusive and transparent culture in tech and to recruit and retain women to help build the future. Join us for an evening in two parts:

1. Discussion/presentation by Elise and John Keith, founders of Lucid Meetings. Lucid Meetings is a Portland tech company that specializes in online meeting services, virtual team support and professional meeting software. They were asked in 2013 by ICANN to improve the accessibility of their platform. After doing 75% of the work themselves, Lucid hired Simply Accessible to guide them through the remainder of the process. They will share how the process went for them.

2. A work in progress documentary screening (director, Chris Higgins, in attendance for Q&A)

This short film "Imagine If: A Story of Accessibility" follows Cory Klatik, a user experience designer and social media manager, as he navigates the world with his guide dog, Vine, along with a variety of computers, mobile devices, and assistive technology. The film is designed to show makers how people with disabilities access culture and technology, and offers guidance on how to build accessibility into their daily practice. Director Chris Higgins will be available for a Q&A after the film.
