16 Guidelines for LIfe
through Maitripa College

The 16 Guidelines provide a practical framework for reflecting on the way we think, speak and act, and for creating the causes to experience lasting happiness and meaning. The latest research being carried out by neuroscientists suggests that we all have the potential to continue developing and transforming our minds, from birth right up until death. The 16 Guidelines show us a way of doing this which will benefit both ourselves and other people. THE GLOBAL POTENTIAL OF THE GUIDELINES The 16 Guidelines are more than simply words: they are an inspiration for taking action in all kinds of ways to benefit oneself and others. Many workshop participants continue to use them not only on a personal level, but also in their working lives. Since they were first launched in 2007 they have inspired a range of practical projects – in schools, colleges, businesses, healthcare organisations, drug rehabilitation centres and prisons – all around the globe. They are currently being translated into over 6 different languages, and a range of multimedia resources for children, young people and adults is under development. Visit www.16guidelines.org to find out more.

Brand Camp
Green Rising Marketing

What’s making you feel lost in your marketing?

Your Brand, your Marketing, is one of those things that feels like it should be easy; people act like it should come naturally. You try, but indecision paralyzes you, and everything sounds over-the-top, too weak, or just …sigh… weird.

So, where to start? To kickstart? To Re-Start?

You’ve got the passion, you love what you do, and hell, quite frankly, the world needs you. (If only they knew about you.)

Enter Green Rising. Why pay big, fancy agency fees, when DIY is way more fun? We’ll teach you everything we know (and can fit into 2 days), so you can up your game, get focused, and share your inner powerhouse with the rest of the world.

You deserve it.

On day 1 of Brand Camp you’ll learn how to:

…articulate the WHY of what you do …find your best customers …stand. out.

How can we top that?

On day 2, you’ll learn how to:

…carry out your vision on your own terms with the basics of marketing and social media (insta-what?), and make real, live connections to experts in graphic design, web design, photography and more. -Learn + Do = Marketing ready-to-go

You will work intensively to sharpen your marketing tools and tactical implementation, all while making great connections within a small class size. Be prepared to have homework every week and really get to know your business in a new way.

When: Nov. 5th (session 1) & Nov. 19th (session 2)

Where: 1306 NW Hoyt St. #300, Portland, OR 97209

Pricing: $150 for one session, $250 if you sign up for both at the same time (includes lunch @ Paragon)

Ninja Sales Techniques
Portland Community College, CLIMB Center

Do you need to be more effective at doing sales?

Whether your revenue is shy of goals or doing sales creates unease for you, for many entrepreneurs, "sales" is a 4 letter word.

In my upcoming class, "Ninja Sales Techniques", I help entrepreneurs become more effective at doing sales by demystifying it, breaking it down into manageable steps, and offering techniques and tips on how non-salespeople can be successful at doing sales. At the end of the course, you'll leave with a much better understanding of sales, be able to create an effective sales plan, and increase your confidence in doing sales.

This 4-week class begins on 2/3, meets at the PCC Climb Center (by OMSI) for 2 hours each week and is part of the SBDC's Entrepreneur's Skill Series. For more information and to register please visit:

If you have little or no experience in doing sales but are responsible for bringing in the revenue, then this class is for you!
