Schedule

• 6:30-6:45: Pizza (Sizzle Pie) arrives. Time for participants to arrive, socialize, and eat.
• 6:45-7:00: Group introductions, announcements from participants & organizers.
• 7:00-8:30: Hacking! Project teams break out to work. New participants can join teams, circulate, or seek out organizers for orientation (Nate (G. or W.), Erica, or Mele).
• 8:30+: Everyone reconvenes and shares reactions and progress made over the last two hours. Show and tell if time/resources allow it. Thank you and goodnight!
• Optional Happy Hour for stragglers after everything's wrapped up :)

• Behind the Curtain - Campaign Finance visualization project from HackOregon.
• BallotPath - Help people find out who their representatives are and how they can run.
• Code for Portland Brigade Site - help build a brigade site for welcoming new members, managing projects and events, and publishing articles that can be used by other brigades across the country too.
• US City Open Data Census - help build an inventory of our city's open data - http://us-city.census.okfn.org.

A gathering of people in the Portland area interested in Open Government, Gov 2.0, and ways that technology may expand and improve civic engagement. All are welcome!

Meet and compare notes with others interested in open government. Sarah Schacht, Director of Knowledge as Power, will speak on international standards for sharing government documents in a computer-readable format and the movement to get government documents speaking in the same tagged language.

This is a 21+ event, with free wine, beer, and appetizers for attendees.

Recently the Portland Development Commission conducted a web-based interview to explore ways to increase the competitive advantages of our software industry. We would like to invite you to a meeting to discuss the results of this interview.

When: Wednesday, May 26th from 4:30 to 6:30 Where: Wieden + Kennedy (224 Northwest 13th Avenue, Portland OR 97209-2977)

The web-based interview revealed 4 critical areas that are impacting the success of our region's software professionals.

• Taxes & Fees

The goal of the meeting will be to vet the ideas shared in this dialog and brainstorm other ways for the PDC to help address these issues.

Based on the results of this meeting, we will go out to the larger community with a second web-based interview to make sure that we're giving the PDC advice that reflects the entire region.
