PIE + PIE Shop applications close through Online at PIE, we love founders and founding teams. The passion, creativity, and grit that drive people to pursue their vision is a constant source of intrigue — and inspiration. And it’s a pursuit we want to encourage. And facilitate. We believe that you should be building your company. And we want you to do that. That said, after 10 years of doing this work, we recognize that one of the most challenging things about building a business is finding access to the people and resources that can help support you at the earliest stages. Before you’re popular. Before you’re a household name. Before you can afford an office. Before investors are lining up to fund you. That’s why we’re here. To support you. Please apply: https://piepdx.com/apply |

PIE applications close – Online Thank you for your interest in PIE, an early stage startup accelerator focused on SaaS offerings; PIE Consumer, an accelerator focused on growth stage consumer products; and PIE Shop, an advanced manufacturing and prototyping incubator to support the next generation of product companies. These programs are each designed to connect participants with peers, mentors, investors, and other critical connections, all in an effort to build better founders and to encourage companies to go further and faster than they would be able to go on their own. Selected startups will join us virtually to work with their peers, PIE alums, and the world-class PIE mentor network. We'll provide you with advice, connections, discounts, support, and other benefits. Interested? Cool. Most responses are optional. But more complete applications help us with our decision. All information submitted to PIE via this form will be considered completely confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone outside the PIE selection committee. If you would prefer to upload a presentation or one pager instead, please visit https://piepdx.com/apply-deck APPLICATIONS CLOSE Aug 9, 2020, 11:59PM PT Need to think about your answers? We highly recommend that you begin formulating your responses using our cheat sheet https://piepdx.com/prep Questions? Contact Marquita Jaramillo, Program Manager, PIE, at [email protected]. PIE application deadline (EXTENDED due to technical glitch) Online At PIE, we like startups. It’s why we started this whole experiment in the first place. So, whenever we have the chance, we opt for using startup products as part of our process. Whether they are PIE companies or not. We just like supporting startups. Most of the time, taking these calculated risks is positive all around, for both PIE and the startup. But every once in a while we encounter some issues. Unfortunately, we are experiencing an issue on the application platform we tried out for this class. A handful of folks have reached out to us, seeking confirmation that their application went through, as they did not receive the confirmation email. When we went searching, those folks didn’t turn up in the database. Cue cold sweat. We’re still working to diagnose the problem. And applications have officially closed. But given the issues, we are now put in the uncomfortable position of having to ask these already overtaxed entrepreneurs to resubmit their applications. For more information, see the PIE blog. |

PIE: A new experiment – Online Please feel free to submit questions ahead of time at https://www.crowdcast.io/e/pie-2022-experiment There's a reason we call it the Portland Incubator Experiment. In addition to our core efforts to assist founders who are building early-stage, product-based startups, PIE continually strives to rethink, reimagine, and experiment with new concepts each year that further creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration within the startup community. This year is no different. For 2022, we'll be taking on an experiment that reframes the role of the startup accelerator within the broader community. And explores ways that the impact of innovation can be more widespread, accessible, and beneficial beyond the startups and founders, themselves. Sound interesting…? Please join PIE for a discussion about our latest experiment, some ideas for moving the experiment forward, and an opportunity for questions and critique of the concept itself. |

PIE Demo Day 2021 – Online Please join us online for an all virtual PIE Demo Day, all from the comfort of your Web browser. You do not need to be an accredited investor to attend. And you don't need to be in Portland, Oregon. Everyone is welcome. It's a community event and all aspects of the virtual demo day are free and open to the public. If you're interested in participating in PIE Demo Day, there are three ways for you to do so. Each starts at 3:14PM Pacific Time on June 28, 2021: Follow PIE on Twitter (https://twitter.com/piepdx): Like last year, the PIE Twitter account will serve as the emcee for PIE Demo Day 2021. If you're interested in experiencing the event as we envisioned it, please make sure you're following our Twitter account as we take you through the run of show. Best of all, the event will be captured in a single thread so that you can reference — and share — it later. Subscribe to PIE on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/portlandincubatorexperiment): Interested in more of a "choose your own adventure" format? You're in luck, because we'll be uploading all of the demo day presentations to our YouTube channel as a single playlist. Join the virtual trade show (https://www.airmeet.com/e/4783cf50-cec2-11eb-9d24-03639ec00847): Not every founder will be presenting on PIE Demo Day, this year, but you'll still get the opportunity to meet them and hear more about the companies they're creating. Join us for a virtual trade show to hear more from this year's founders. We look forward to seeing you at PIE Demo Day 2021. |

*LAST* PIE Demo Day, ever! – The Redd After three years of virtual demo days, we're getting back to an in-person demo day! What's more, THIS WILL BE THE LAST PIE DEMO DAY, EVER. Please join us for PIE Demo Day 2023 on August 10, 2023. Meet the startups from this year's PIE class, PIE alums, mentors, investors, and other members of the startup community during an event that diverges from the typical startup accelerator demo day format… plus a few more surprises. Open to the public. All are welcome. You do not have to be an accredited investor to attend. Participating startups include:
Featuring products from Built Accelerator participants and alums like:
Taking learnings from both previous in-person and online events, PIE Demo Day 2023 will forego the typical “staged presentation” format in favor of a more interactive trade show format, with recorded pitches from participating startups being made available prior to the show at https://youtube.com/@piepdx. “We would rather have members of the community stop by demo day for a few minutes to meet specific founders — or to wander the trade show floor — than require them to sit through all of the presentations before getting access to the startups that interest them,” said Rick Turoczy, cofounder and general manager of PIE. “We tested a virtual trade show format during the pandemic that provided this a more interactive environment for attendees than previous demo days — and the feedback from both attendees and founders was extremely positive. This year, we’re excited to test that more interactive format in person for the benefit of the entire Portland startup community.” Read more:
