*LAST* PIE Demo Day, ever! – The Redd After three years of virtual demo days, we're getting back to an in-person demo day! What's more, THIS WILL BE THE LAST PIE DEMO DAY, EVER. Please join us for PIE Demo Day 2023 on August 10, 2023. Meet the startups from this year's PIE class, PIE alums, mentors, investors, and other members of the startup community during an event that diverges from the typical startup accelerator demo day format… plus a few more surprises. Open to the public. All are welcome. You do not have to be an accredited investor to attend. Participating startups include:
Featuring products from Built Accelerator participants and alums like:
Taking learnings from both previous in-person and online events, PIE Demo Day 2023 will forego the typical “staged presentation” format in favor of a more interactive trade show format, with recorded pitches from participating startups being made available prior to the show at https://youtube.com/@piepdx. “We would rather have members of the community stop by demo day for a few minutes to meet specific founders — or to wander the trade show floor — than require them to sit through all of the presentations before getting access to the startups that interest them,” said Rick Turoczy, cofounder and general manager of PIE. “We tested a virtual trade show format during the pandemic that provided this a more interactive environment for attendees than previous demo days — and the feedback from both attendees and founders was extremely positive. This year, we’re excited to test that more interactive format in person for the benefit of the entire Portland startup community.” Read more:
Not interested in meeting with the current PIE startups…? We hope to see you there! |

PIE: A new experiment – Online Please feel free to submit questions ahead of time at https://www.crowdcast.io/e/pie-2022-experiment There's a reason we call it the Portland Incubator Experiment. In addition to our core efforts to assist founders who are building early-stage, product-based startups, PIE continually strives to rethink, reimagine, and experiment with new concepts each year that further creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration within the startup community. This year is no different. For 2022, we'll be taking on an experiment that reframes the role of the startup accelerator within the broader community. And explores ways that the impact of innovation can be more widespread, accessible, and beneficial beyond the startups and founders, themselves. Sound interesting…? Please join PIE for a discussion about our latest experiment, some ideas for moving the experiment forward, and an opportunity for questions and critique of the concept itself. |
