DESCRIPTION:In the aftermath of damaging hacked emails between climate sc
ientists\, and as global leaders and community activists converge in Cop
enhagen\, we take a step away from the politics to look at the science b
ehind studying climate change. While global warming has risen in the pa
st decades from being viewed as a crazy idea from the environmental left
to a global concern unifying the nations of the world\, skeptics still
claim that &quot\;bad science&quot\; is being used to support this effor
t.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWe hear from Andrew Rice\, a professor of physics at P

DESCRIPTION:The Portland Podcast Cooperative is hosting Portland’s first
Podcast Unconference revolving around the theme of podcasting.&#13\;\n&#
 13\;\nLimited to the first 50 people&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe Event &#13\;\nWh
at you don’t need is another presentation\, books\, or itineraries plann
ed months ahead of time. Instead\, what we all really seek when coming t
o an event is personal value. The best and most meaningful memories come
from when we walk away with thought provoking discussions\, new relatio
nships\, and those do not happen while sitting in lecture. They happen i
n the discussions that go on amongst the attendees.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe G
oal&#13\;\nThe goal of this unconference is to bring forth the brightest
minds in the community that feel strongly around the topic of podcastin
g in its many versions. Then from there\, to open a new doorway for oppo
rtunities to connect and learn\, all while having fun and making it what
you want it to be.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe Facilitator &#13\;\nMegan O'Leary
the Director of Member Services from OEN is going to facilitate the who
le unconference event. A great experienced facilitator makes the event\,
so prepare yourself for a wonderful time. &#13\;\n&#13\;\n9:00am-10:00a
m Coffee &amp\; networking &#13\;\n10:00-11:00am Overview and group agen
 da setting &#13\;\n11:00-11:45am Session 1 &#13\;\n11:45am-12:30pm Sessi
 on 2 &#13\;\n12:30pm-1:30pm Lunch &#13\;\n1:30pm-2:15pm Session 3 &#13\;
 \n2:15pm-3:30pm Session 4 &#13\;\n3:30pm-4:00pm Closing remarks &#13\;\n
&#13\;\nLunch is included. Capiche. &#13\;\n&#13\;\nSo\, what exactly is
an ‘Unconference?’ &#13\;\nThink of this as an open conference that is
driven by its participants. Unlike traditional conferences\, an unconfer
ence allows for flexibility\, open discussion\, and debate\, all fueled
by its attendees. Innovative conversations with some of the brightest pe
ople\, important purposes and tasks discussed without any formal agenda\
, and unplanned dialogue led by ultimately what peaks your interest most
.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWhy attend? &#13\;\nThis is your chance to learn from o
thers\, seek out answers\, and openly ask questions to what matters most
to you. &#13\;\n&#13\;\nCome to build a collaborative network\, establi
sh partnerships\, and be in a close community of people that value the s
ame or similar topics of discussion. &#13\;\n&#13\;\nOpen your awareness
to new ideas for yourself or your business.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBe exposed t
o new trends\, latest issues\, new projects\, emerging businesses and to
ols..&#13\;\n&#13\;\nUnconferences are proven to be highly productive fo
r whatever issues people feel most strongly about. EXPECT fascinating qu
estions\, surprising results\, inspiring quotes of laughter\, and hard w
ork.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nHow Does it Work? &#13\;\nSimple\, we provide the th
eme — podcasting. When you arrive\, we will kick off with an ice-breaker
\, introduce everyone\, then break off into building the day's agenda ar
ound your needs\, interests\, and areas of expertise. &#13\;\n&#13\;\nTh
e sessions will be broken up into 30-minute discussions and spaces are r
eserved for gatherings that happen throughout the day.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWh
o should attend? &#13\;\nIf you took the time to read through all of thi
s\, then YOU! The event is open to anyone with an interest in the topic.
The goal is to bring a diverse mix of individuals and professionals fro
m all industries and stages of their podcast. Whether you’re a podcast p
 roducer\, podcast talent\, CEO\, a startup founder\, possible podcast ma
ker with a new idea\, or simply just have interest in the topic of podca
sting\, we welcome you to join us. &#13\;\n&#13\;\nAll NedSpace events h
ave a Code of Conduct which all participants\, members\, partners\, visi
 tors\, vendors\, guests must abide by.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n&#13\;\n&#13\;\nOr
ganizers &#13\;\n&#13\;\nMegan O’Leary - OEN Director of Membership Serv
ices &#13\;\n&#13\;\n As Director of Membership Services\, Megan manages
recruitment\, retention and educational programming for OEN’s statewide
network. She is focused on providing an excellent and beneficial experi

d thriving community. &#13\;\n&#13\;\nMegan has over 13 years of profess

she developed programs\, managed staff\, trained volunteers\, raised mo
ney and executed special events. In 2011\, she was selected to lead the
