 \;\n7:30-9:00 p.m.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nFrom the Bike Portland blog post:&#13\
;\n&#13\;\nThe Willamette Pedestrian Coalition (WPC) will host a present
ation and discussion tomorrow night to spur attention on walking issues\
, or what they call &quot\;Feet as traffic.&quot\; At the event\, the WP
C will discuss why advocating for walking is important\, how this moveme
nt is growing\, potential synergies with bike advocates\, and what the n
ext year has in store. WPC will also give a sneak preview of its Getting
Around on Foot Action Plan.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe event comes as walking c
ontinues to garner headlines. Last week\, Oregon Public Radio hosted a w
 ide-ranging discussion about &quot\;Foot Traffic&quot\; on their Think O
ut Loud show. In yesterday's paper\, The Oregonian reported a &quot\;dra
matic increase in pedestrian deaths this year&quot\;\; and just this mor
ning\, the Police Bureau responded to a major collision in North Portlan
d where a man driving a car ran into several people\, including a four y
ear old in a stroller who sustained life-threatening injuries.&#13\;\n&#

cross the state reported some alarming news: pedestrian fatalities are u

across the state brought the 2010 total to 52 fatalities\, whereas by t
 his time last year 29 pedestrians had been killed by car drivers.&quot\;

we'll have a presentation on this nifty data appliance and an update on
other tech/data projects BikeLoud folks have been working on. Some of t

web services to display transit arrivals on fixed location screens in ap

ns. The project is hosted by the non-profit Portland Transport and curre
ntly operates more than 60 screens around the region.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe
project is looking for volunteers to refresh the technology stack for t
