DESCRIPTION:Join PDX Women Coders for a back-end study session\, where we
read and discuss Designing Data-Intensive Applications (2nd edition) by
Martin Kleppmann. We plan to go over one chapter (or so) each session\,
and we will be meeting every two weeks for 7-8 months to finish the boo
 k. Each session\, we'll go over that we learned in that chapter\, and ex
plore key concepts in distributed systems\, data storage\, and scalable
architecture. We hope this will be a good opportunity to learn and conne
ct with fellow engineers.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nBefore the event\, please read
Chapter 2: Defining Nonfunctional Requirements.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nSome addi
tional details:&#13\;\n- We are meeting every two weeks @ 10AM PT on Zoo
m&#13\;\n- Anyone can attend\, regardless of gender\, as long as you sup
port our mission&#13\;\n- Reading is not required for attendance (but yo
u'll get more out of this session if you read along 😉)&#13\;\n- The even
t photo comes from Martin Kleppmann's blog post: Drawing a map of distri
 buted data systems\n\nImported from: http://calagator.org/events/1250482
