DESCRIPTION:Event Agenda:&#13\;\nThere will be a main talk between 30 min
utes to 1 hour followed by optional lighting talks.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nScala
ble processing with Ray: unstructured data\, multimodal data\, and integ
ration with your custom code by Adam Breindel&#13\;\n&#13\;\nIn this tal
k\, we'll look at building applications and data pipelines that operate
on unstructured or multimodal data using the open-source Ray framework.
Ray provides abstractions for running distributed\, scalable\, stateful
code as well as higher-level constructs for orchestrating data pipelines
where you can supply your own business logic.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nSome logic
might involve using or training AI models -- but this talk is not focus
ed on (or written by) AI. We'll look at general issues that arise when s
caling interesting logic and talk a bit about the algorithms that the Ra
y Core and Ray Data schedulers employ to address common challenges.&#13\
;\n&#13\;\nLast\, since I've met so many awesome folks in the local Pyth
on communities who are looking for jobs\, we'll also talk a bit about th
e tech stacks and other dynamics driving employment and the role of Port
land's economy in the evolving landscape.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nLightning Talks
:&#13\;\nLightning talks are talks up to 5 minutes in length on any topi
c that might interest other Python people. See PyCon’s Lightning Talks d
 escription for more details.\n\nTags: python\, code\, ray\, dask\, softw
 are\, programming\n\nImported from: http://calagator.org/events/12504826
