 Friday\, May 18\, 2018 at 8pm.\n\nDescription:\nThe MBA is partnering wi
 th the Technology Association of Oregon to host a hackathon focused on i
 mproving access to justice and services for self-represented litigants a
 nd the homeless.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nWHAT IS A HACKATHON?&#13\;\nA hackathon 
 is an event at which a large number of people meet to engage in a collab
 orative endeavor\, splitting into teams and brainstorming new solutions 
 to existing problems.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nCOLLABORATE AND TAKE ACTION:&#13\;\
 nThis is a 2 day event. Will we kick off the event on Thursday May 17th 
 with an introduction to the problems being worked on\, networking\, and 
 team building. Friday May 18th\, teams will work on the solutions to the
  problems before presenting their solution to a panel of legal and techn
 ical judges.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nThe hackathon will focus on improving access
 ibility and efficiency for access to homeless shelters and support servi
 ces\, pro bono volunteerism\, and the new courthouse. There will be four
  problems teams can choose to work on: &#13\;\n&#13\;\nWorking with LASO
  to identify ways to harness technology to connect lawyers to pro bono o
 pportunities\; &#13\;\nPartnering with Transition Projects\, Inc. to bra
 instorm about how an app or website can make it easier for homeless and 
 people in transition can find shelter beds\, meals\, and other support s
 ervices\; &#13\;\nWorking with a representative of the Multnomah County 
 Courts to develop technology that helps self-represented litigants navig
 ate the courthouse and legal system\;&#13\;\nPartnering with a represent
 ative of the Multnomah County Courts to develop technology to assist tho
 se without limited or no financial resources in understanding where they
  need to be (and when) for court appearances\, and assisting those indiv
 iduals with transportation options and directions.&#13\;\n&#13\;\n&#13\;
