DESCRIPTION:Women and other underrepresented groups in tech\, particularl
y those who call North and Northeast Portland home\, are invited to a sp
ecial Lean Coffee networking event. This is a great opportunity to cross
boundaries and broaden networks in a safe space. IntraEdge Technology S
ervice &amp\; Solutions is happy to host us at Compass Coffee Roasting.
If you’d like to start your Saturday off with a casual networking event\
, join us! The event is geared towards those who “find ourselves at the
edges of the bell curve of demographics in tech fields\,” as Brittany Ne
whouse so eloquently put it.&#13\;\nDon’t be intimidated by the Lean Cof
fee format\; it’s not just for Agile practitioners. It’s simply an infor
 mal way to meet and discuss what interests and affects us.&#13\;\n&#13\;
\nThe meetup will run from 8:30-10 a.m. Be there early to make your orde
r before we start\; coffee and snacks will be provided. This event is sp
onsored by PDXWIT\, AgilePDX and Portland Lean Coffee.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nPu
 rpose:&#13\;\nPDXWIT is a community-based non-profit organization. Our p
urpose is to strengthen the Portland women in tech community by offering
  educational programs\, partnerships\, mentorships\, resources and oppor
tunities. We are unifying a supportive environment for current and poten
tial women in tech\, all of whom are committed to helping each other. Ou
r goal is to bring together and empower women in tech and to encourage o
thers to pursue tech careers. This is our step towards reducing the gend
er imbalance in the industry and addressing the current negative effects
of that imbalance on women.&#13\;\n&#13\;\nTrans and non-binary people
are always welcome at our events.\n\nTags: portland oregon\, networking\
