 places like Harvard University\, and the College of Physicians of Philad
 elphia\; as a reporter with National Public Radio\; and as a board membe
 r of arts organizations\, neighborhood associations\, and her alma mater
 \, Reed College.  Mara graduated with honors from Columbia's Graduate Sc
 hool of Journalism with a focus on digital media\, and received her B.A.
