But how often do we test the database underly ing our applications? Given that the database\, as the repository for al l of the knowledge and data for an application\, just might be the singl e most important part of that application\, the time for standardized da tabase unit testing has come. \;\n \;\nThis talk promotes the prac tice of writing and running unit tests that directly test the schema\, s torage\, and functionality of application databases. Following a review of the available PostgreSQL unit testing frameworks\, we’ll review examp les of testing tables\, views\, columns\, constraints\, indexes\, trigge rs\, and functions.
